Bancs: Ce descripteur ne s’applique qu’au brouillard (FG) et indique que des bancs de brouillard couvrent l’aérodrome ça et là. Alors que la visibilité horizontale indiquée dans le message METAR ou SPECI est de 1000 mètres ou plus, l’observateur signale ainsi des bancs de brouillard réduisant par endroit la visibilité apparente à moins de 1 000 mètres.
